Ross School Mobile App Installation Guide

Ross School has launched its very own mobile app, designed to improve communication with the entire Ross community. All emergency notifications, including school closures and important updates related to Covid-19, will be delivered via the Ross School app.

Download the Ross School app from the App Store or Google Play by searching for ‘Ross School app’ on either platform, using the following links, or via the QR code below:

Once you download the app, open it and press 'Get Started' to customize your role(s) and settings according to the appropriate user group. Detailed instructions for Parents/Families, Students, Faculty &Staff, and Community users are provided below:

 

Parents/Families and Students

  1. Select your role at Ross School: ‘Parent/Family’ or ‘Student.' Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen. 
  2. School Division(s): Select any divisions from which you would like to receive information and notifications. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection or to skip.
  3. Groups(s): Depending on which Division(s) you chose in the previous step, you can opt into Lower, Middle, High School, and or Schoolwide groups. Select any groups from which you would like to receive information and notifications. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection or to skip. Touch 'Save' to confirm. 
  4. Enable Notifications: Select ‘Yes, please’ to receive infrequent but essential notices and updates. Your phone may also prompt you to allow notifications. Please allow.
  5. Touch 'Continue' at the bottom of the screen to view your settings. Touch 'Close' to go to the home screen. 

Faculty & Staff

  1. Select your role at Ross School: ‘Faculty/Staff.' (You may also select Parent/Family if appropriate.) Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen. 
  2. Enter your Ross School email address and check that your browser does not automatically capitalize the first letter of your address. Correct if necessary.
  3. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen. 
  4. If this is your first time signing in, you will receive a message telling you that you've received an invitation to join the school, which will be sent to the email address entered. There is also a button to resend the invitation to yourself.
  5. Follow the link in the email to accept the invitation and create a password at least 12 digits long
  6. Return to the app and use the password you created when accepting the invitation.
  7. School Division(s): Select any divisions from which you would like to receive information and notifications. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection or to skip.
  8. Groups(s): Depending on which Division(s) you selected in the previous step, you can opt into LS/MS/HS and Schoolwide groups. Select any groups from which you would like to receive information and notifications. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection or to skip. Touch 'Save' to confirm. 
  9. Enable Notifications: Select ‘Yes, please’ to receive infrequent but essential notices and updates. Your phone may also prompt you to allow notifications. Please allow.
  10. Touch 'Continue' at the bottom of the screen to view your settings. Touch 'Close' to go to the home screen.

 

Community Members

  1. Select your role at Ross School: ‘Community.' Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen. 
  2. School Division(s): Select any divisions from which you would like to receive information and notifications. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection or to skip.
  3. Groups(s): Depending on which Division(s) you chose in the previous step, you can opt into Lower, Middle, High School, and or Schoolwide groups. Select any groups from which you would like to receive information and notifications. Touch ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection or to skip. Touch 'Save' to confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not receiving notifications. How can I enable them?

  • Go to the Notifications tab in the bottom navigation menu of the Ross School app. Select 'Enable Notifications' to choose the group/divisions you wish to receive notifications from. Your phone may also prompt you to allow notifications, which you must allow.
  • Check your phone settings 
    iPhone: Go to Settings > Notifications > Ross and make sure the Allow Notifications setting is switched on.
    Android: Go to Settings > Apps and Notifications >  See All Apps > Ross School App and enable push notifications. NOTE: The Android version of the app currently has a glitch where notifications always show as disabled even when they have been enabled. This is being worked on and will be resolved as soon as possible.
  • Delete and reinstall the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play following the links above. If the problem persists, please report the issue to communications@ross.org
